Born in the quiet of the pandemic, We Are Amsterdam began as a street project capturing everyday faces and the heartbeat of the city. Today it has grown into a living installation and immersive experience, where strangers, artists, and brands come together to reimagine one iconic moment as the stage for a city’s story.

We Are Amsterdam reimagines the bed as a public space - a cultural object placed into the city. Into churches, rooftops, hotels, streets, institutions. Wherever the bed appears, something happens.

The bed is no longer about retreat, but about presence. Each city invites people into it: artists, thinkers, locals, partners, passersby. They lie down, sit, talk, create, and are photographed. A growing visual archive forms.

We will bring the Spirit of a City to more cities in the world. Paris, London, Berlin, Tokyo, New York. Every city has it's own heartbeat and we will create a snapshot of it.
Our partners will be photographed by photographer Anna-Luisa Ballauf and get the opportunity to become part of the art "moment" in your city.
